What is The Truth? / Truth Reflects The Glory of God

Truth Reveals the Glory of God

Truth is the prism that reveals the glory, beauty and love of God.

At the trial of Jesus, Pilate said, “What is truth?”

I believe that was a cry from his heart. I am sure a man of his position most likely had compromised his integrity in his climb to power.

The presence of God, standing before him, caused him to question his current circumstance and the turmoil taking place in his spirit.

His wife, Claudia, was a godly woman who understood spiritual matters and precepts of truth, pleaded with Pilate to have nothing to do with the judgement of Jesus.

Jesus boldly said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6 KJV

The Bible says:

“I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Psalm 119:30 KJV

“For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.”

Psalm 33:4 KJV

Truth works in our lives like a diamond that has many facets formed under intense pressure and purification processes that take the elements, turning them into something transparent and beautiful.

God, who is absolute truth, has displayed the works of truth, emanated by all of nature, immutable and open for all to see.

How is it that nature is so powerful and raw yet so intensely precise?

It is because everything that exists does so by the will of God. He created everything out of nothing and did it in perfect, precise harmony.

Truth is not subjective. It isn’t dictated by personal preference.

There is none of this business that says, “This is my truth, that is your truth.”

Truth stands alone and is not based on personal opinion.

Rather, God expects us to form our lives according to his immutable, absolute truth as revealed in the Bible.

The Bible is a reflection of his nature. It reveals truth and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart.

A child of God doesn’t get to choose what truth is, but we must conform to truth as it is revealed to us. It must shape our intellect, scruples, and emotions to emulate the reflection of our Heavenly Father.

As light shines through a prism, truth must shine through our lives to bring glory and beauty to the Almighty God.

In the book of Numbers the scripture says “God is not a man that he should lie.”

God is omnipotent and the creator of all things for his pleasure! Simply put he is the embodiment of truth and created all matter.

The universes, oceans, all creatures, every law of nature, every precept physically and spiritually was created for his pleasure.

When humanity cries out to God and seeks him with their whole heart, he reveals a path that will transform humanity and bring personal revelation to free us from our dark and fallen nature while gently drawing us into his presence.

Paul says being filled with God’s Spirit, the Holy Ghost is joy unspeakable and full of glory.

The Psalmist said “Buy the truth and sell it not”.

We exist in a world where the fallen nature within mankind is in an all-out war to obliterate truth and live a life in anarchy.

The prevailing spirit of our world is selfish indulgence and emulation at all cost. Most of mankind is either enslaved to poverty and struggle to survive or driven by the desire to be rich and powerful at the expense of whoever may be in the way.

The Bible says that in the days of Noah,

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. “(Genesis 6:5-7 KJV)

Genesis 1:31 states that, “God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”

How sad that in just a short time mankind left the work God had done in truth to be lead down the path of destruction by subtlety and deceit.

Since that moment when the eyes of man were open to the knowledge of good and evil, our minds are in a battle for truth.

When we align ourselves with truth all things work toward our good.

Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life.”(John 14:6 KJV)

The choice seems so simple yet God’s Word says men love darkness rather than light.

Light being truth that shines into the very darkest room of our souls to reveal to us what we are.

John 3:19 states, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

God is not a God of condemnation. His desire is that we are restored to the truth we were created to walk in, in his presence and fellowship.

Because men loved darkness rather than light, they excuse themselves of their evil deeds by walking in delusion, justifying their ways and despising those who walk in truth.

The first record of blatant rejection came with the history of Cain and Able.  These brothers had faith and knew they should come before God with a sacrifice.

Able chose to offer a lamb from his flock. Undoubtedly, this lamb had been nurtured and loved so the sacrifice was personal. He was also aware that God shed the blood of an animal as substitute for the judgment passed to mankind from Adam and Eve.

Cain, on the other hand offered fruits and vegetables from the ground he had tilled. The problem was, Cain, knowing what God required, chose to offer fruit from a cursed ground and became enraged when God chose not to honor it.

God came and reasoned with Cain, literally pleading with him, “And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. (Genesis 4:6-7 KJV)

Paraphrased; if you don’t do well sin will overcome and bring you into bondage.

Cain had the opportunity to admit his error and walk in truth but rather chose to walk in darkness. His choice drove him out from the presence of God and he perpetuated a Godless lineage.

I’m sure he found excuses to justify himself but at the expense of knowing truth.

Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 KJV)

There is no compromise, no alternative. No opinion can change truth.

Yet, you have the freedom to choose what you believe and how you will live.

God is not afraid of your inquiry. He welcomes your questions.

Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Sin separates us from truth.

The question then becomes, Are you willing to accept the Author of Truth?

Our human fallen nature separates us from God but the work of Jesus Christ reconciles us to God by taking away the sin that separates us!

Some believe Calvary allows us to sin without penalty. This conception is wrong. We must repent (turn away from sin), be baptized (bury the old man and have our sins washed away by the blood of Jesus), and put on the new man through the infilling of the Holy Spirit! (Acts 2:38)

This is not a license to sin but the power to overcome it!

There was a time when all mankind knew of God, but because man chose not to retain God in their knowledge, he allowed them to believe a lie.

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever Amen.” (Romans 1:25)

“For this cause God gave them up to vile affections…” (Romans 1:26)

Men rejected the truth and through the course of time darkness has permeated our world.

We live in a world where good is called evil and evil is celebrated, all because humankind loved not the truth!

Oh, let us seek truth! Let us desire and long for it!

Find the truth!

Buy the truth and sell it not!

Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free!

There is a great big wonderful God who is waiting to change your life and give you beauty for ashes and dancing for your mourning.
