Aren’t you tired of searching
Down every lonely road
Turning that next corner
Not sure where to go
Basing your decisions
On this world’s sinking sands
Needing someone stronger
To take you by the hand
Wondering, seeking, reaching
For someone, to understand
Hearing all the voices
Tugging at your soul
Where can I find the answer
For the way that I must go
The crying in your life
To satisfy this craving
And put an end to strife
Your heart and mind a landscape
Of barren hopeless dreams
Illusions plunder and deceive
Those most dear to me
Jesus, I am crying
Come and rescue me
Let your truth surround me
Lift me from despair
For when I look into your eyes
I find the answer that I need
Jesus, I am crying
Come save me from myself
Let me see the true way
Lift me from this hell
This life that’s just a vapor
Of vanity and strife
Jesus, you’re my answer
The way, the truth, the life
Dispeller of my questions
The end of toil and strife
The healer of my heartache
Your word it will hold true
For, in this life I’ve found
LORD, there’s only YOU.
Lord, there’s only you!
I find that in the times I am struggling for the world to make sense, Jesus steps in, bringing an inner revelation of his presence.
It is only in depending on his Word that I feel a deeper peace and assurance.
Trials and uncertainty are sent to nudge us into a place of trust. God desires that trust.
The Bible says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” (II Chronicles 16:9 KJV)
We cannot be perfect in our deeds or actions but when we seek him and are obedient in what we know, he is able to work on our behalf.
We understand that we have sinned (missed the mark) and have a heart of repentance toward him, then in obedience to his word, are washed through baptism in the name of Jesus, we enter into a covenant with him.
He treats us as his child and as any true father would do, he watches diligently over us to protect and teach us how to walk in perfection.
A newborn is perfect even though he can’t talk, walk, or take care of himself.
At two years old, that child is babbling and walking, spilling his food and milk and generally making a mess of things but he is still perfect as a two year old.
If he is ten years old but chooses to act as a two year old, he is not perfect for his age.
This principle is applied to our lives as we grow in our relationship and understanding of God’s word.
We are in a perfect state of maturity as we grow and allow God to lead us into greater truth.
As an example, when our own children do the opposite of what they know is right, our patience wears thin and we discipline and instruct them for their own good.
But we would never abandon them.
Sometimes we have to allow them to experience the consequences of their actions, which naturally cause distress and regret.
If you are experiencing distress and uncertainty, maybe it would be a good time to turn to your Heavenly Father and ask his direction?
If you haven’t yet become a child of God, there is no better time than right now!
Becoming a Christian is not joining a social cast or community. True Christianity is a life changing experience.
You literally become a new person emotionally and spiritually. You have a tangible relationship with Jesus Christ!
Your Creator desires to envelope you in his love and welcome you into the family.
There are no step-kids in this family.
Each of us have all the attention of our Father.
Life is difficult at best but I can’t imagine living it without Jesus. Every turn, I know he has my best interest in mind.
There are no words that can adequately describe the depth of assurance I have in Him. He is my anchor. Everything I am is depending on his guidance and protection.
I invite you to trust him. You will find everything you need in his Word. It is a reflection of what he thinks and plans for you.
One of my favorite scriptures is:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end. (or paraphrased, to give you hope that all will be well with you.)” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
He told the Jews this when they were in bondage because of their idolatry. Even though they were having to face the consequences of their actions, God came along and said, “Listen, I know you have messed up but hold on because I have better plans in store for you!”
What an awesome God, and he loves us and watches over us!
Why would anyone not want to live for him?
